What a week of blessings. I can, as usual, find more than five. Today, I’ll start with my biggest one:
My son is okay after being involved in a wreck today. I was driving to a workshop in the Houston area when I heard the news. He’s hours away in Lubbock. His truck was towed, but he’s okay. I keep repeating those words in my head: he is ok.
Amazing news from my son and daughter: their college graduations in December are enough hours apart so that their dad and I can attend both together. For months, we thought we were going to have to draw straws and attend one each. One’s in Lubbock and one’s in Waco…and I’m a happy mom to know I will be able to see both.
Waydean’s spirit is still alive. I was given many of her things this week…her sewing machine among those…full heart.
Liz’s rose bush is still blooming. Pink blooms greet me often…I’m listening.
My students wrote and created books and greeted visitors as part of our National Day on Writing celebration. It was a day of proud moments. Have you seen a parent come in and write, then read to the class? Every guest left happier than when they came. Kids have that effect, especially writer type kids.
And now, a repeat because I’m a mom and I’m so grateful: my son is ok.
