Thank you for reading these words, for giving me ideas, for commenting when you can, for sending emails.
I’m six months into this journey today, and I have to say to my writing friends:
Daily writing is necessary.
I know I’m not writing a Pulitzer here, but I am proving to myself that I do have the self discipline to get something on the page every single day.
Something that might inspire, anger, humor, or soothe. Something that might speak to someone.
Thank you to my old followers, my new followers, and all in between.
You are a great gift to me because you’ve given my voice a place to land.
I learn every day as a writer, but my greatest lesson as I mark six months of daily blogging is the realization that I do have the self discipline to write.
Where will that lead? We will see.
Blogging has given me something that writing in a journal does not, although my journal is my constant companion, and when I miss a day writing in it, I feel it.
I’m grateful for this time, for the ideas like the one from Julie at
She asked to see a Saturday’s Six, similar to my gratitude list that I named Friday’s Five.
Her suggestion gave me the idea to use one day for writing six word memoirs…we’ll see where that turns up. It will challenge me to focus and think. Thanks, Julie.
Much has happened in the past six months. It’s not all recorded here, of course. But there are glimpses.
I do know that giving myself this challenge has helped me in ways I did not expect. I hope to write about the process in the months to come.
For now, a heartfelt thank you to you.
