Family pictures on Christmas tree day…
we didn’t go cut a tree for the first time in years, but our son and future daughter-in-law shopped for a beautiful one and brought it to us…and Sam put the lights on it as he always has, and then we stood in the doorway like we always have, and held hands and took in the colorful display…

The voices of children practicing Christmas carols for a family night production…the last one I’ll hear for awhile, most likely…retirement is almost here…

My sister’s daily generosity while she was here last week : from coffees to feather boas to wool yarn…to memories…moments of laughter and understanding—treasured days…

A successful first craft show, and meeting people who appreciate handmade things…and our friends JoEllen and Gary, who printed my daughter’s and my business cards–the same day…for free…
because they say, We are family

The white package with gold bow–a gift to me from Santa under the tree–the lone gift thus far, from a man who touches my heart with his determination–and keeping of sweet married life traditions…

Old and new ways of being right now…a blending that some days is strange, but this week just seemed right.
Time passes, and we are in transition land here. So much is unknown, yet there’s so much still to celebrate.

And we must. We must celebrate as much as we can…
Enjoy December and all her gifts…
