I am a teacher of fourth graders and college students. I’m a writer and a literacy workshop presenter. I quilt and crochet. I create mixed media art pieces. I knit a little. I love poetry and wonderful quotations. I probably buy too many books.
I am trying to live the most creative life I can. I am trying to pay attention. Making time to write and create objects of art will make my teaching so much better. I’m out to prove it. I’m on a journey. I’m determined to make time for the people and things that matter most.

Especially like what you said about ‘trying to pay attention’ … so important! =D

Thank you! It really is…it is so easy to zone out. I absolutely understand my students’ problem with this. 🙂

I think the speed of modern life can be an impediment too, and we often miss the small things that could enrich us and our creativity … =D

I agree! I cherish the times when I’m able to slow down and really be aware.

Thank you…the journey has certainly changed midstream, but seems even more important to document.. My husband’s cancer diagnosis
shapes our days now. Everything we held dear remains the same: God, family, friends, nature, home.

Greetings, Agnes!
I looked for your blog when I read an article you’d written and it told your blog’s name. I have really enjoyed following your posts and was deeply saddened by your loss. I lost my sister to cancer in March 2013 so I can relate somewhat to your grief journey. So many of your posts have been uplifting. Thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Susan, thank you for this message. I’m sorry for your loss…cancer is an evil disease. I hope you are finding ways to honor your sister’s memory. Our loved ones never totally leave us. That in itself is a great comfort. Hugs to you as you walk this journey…
